Car audio setup Question?

Lanita Reichman: Setting up a car audio system is quite hectic as it needs to be done under the supervision of a technical expert who can really well help to guide you in a better manner. I have been using the car audio system which has given me quite satisfactory results.http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/us/Products/pages/cate...

Neely Youngblut: Subs and amp should work well together. The boxes are functionally identical. Just some minor construction differences. Either one should work well. Will the box fit?? I have no idea. You own the car, right? Do you have a tape measure?Do some measuring and try to figure it out for yourself.I have found in the past that a box may physically fit IN the trunk, but won't ffit through the opening of the trunk (I built a box for a relative once and had to lay it in the trunk in pieces and rebuild it there). If you can't tell for sure get some pieces of cardboard and some duct tape and build a cardboard box the same size as your sub bo! x and see if it will work. The wiring -- people make this so hard...The box already has a terminal cup for both subs -- you don't need to cut or drill anything.Just connect each sub to its respective terminal cup inside the box.At that point - each connection on the box is 4 ohms -- now just wire them parallel and the amp will have its 2 ohm load.To wire them parallel can do it one of two ways:Either run one +/- speaker wire from the amp to one box terminal, and another from that point to the 2nd terminal.OR - run two +/- speaker wires from the amp - one to each terminal. It's the same connection - just a different routing method....Show more
