Aldo Decurtis: Some permits are 3 days.I had a 3 day, but couldn''t get car smogged for 3 weeks. Parts were hard to get and make fit.Cops Never pulled me over...I lucked out. One was Right Behind me.EDIT: A Dealer sold me a Brand New Mazda once, never asked for insurance or DL. Just Moola. He did get a binder on it until I got to my insurance broker....Show more
Minh Lefrancois: I agree that some older drivers need to have drivers tests done more often due to their driving "techniques," however, I disagree that just because YOU think you're a good driver exempts you from obtaining a drivers license! You have the money to buy a car....get the license and then you'll never have to ask this question again! There is always a possibility that you'll get pulled over. Maybe not for the paper tag in the rear window...but if you commit a minor traffic offense.Likewise, even if YOU drive better than others...doesn't mean another driver doesn't run in to YOU! As such! ...you can have all the insurance you want but the insurance company won't pay because you are not a "licensed driver" therefore they can refuse a claim!...Show more
Geraldo Mccalla: Come on your question is not valid or even close to it.No dealer will sell you a vehicle for you to drive without a license and no insurance company would insure you with no drivers licenseIf you try to say you bought it from a private party, the state would not give a driver on permit onlySorry I do not believe your question...Show more
Mark Hovanes: Typically the temporary registration is good for 30 days from the of purchase. The expiration date is usually written in big numbers on the paper. You wont have to worry about getting pulled over while the temps are still valid. You're permit should be ok to get the car registered since the city is usually just looking for some sort of ID and insurance....Show more
