Verena Koop: Not Beer by its definition ,but it has some similar ingredients that beer does, but no alcohol.
Jill Thomer: It's called root beer because it's brewed similar to beer. Brewing requires yeast. There are other soft drinks that are brewed, like ginger beer.
Luther Plagmann: No it does not contain any sort of beer in it.

Hugo Pittari: Nope. It's made using the bark or roots of the sassafras tree and the plant. It is similar to low-alcohol beers, or small beers that contain very low alcohol content, but most popular brands contain no real alcohol now.
Terrell Lawman: Obviously root beer has beer (and therefore alcohol) in it because the word "beer" is in its name.
Thomas Riner: Its made from the root of beer. Get it ROOTBEER
