Do kids really need preschool?

Alexander Villas: Children learn so much in Pre-school and apart from anything else, it prepares them for school, so the transition will be A LOT smother. They learn to sit and listen, share, follow instructions and interact with other children. It's also amazing fun for them, activities are available at pre-school which you just can't do at home. Above all though, it's about interacting and playing with children their own age. Studies have shown that children who receive some sort of daycare before school age are more confident and find it easier to make friends and generally cope with the first years at school better. On another note, pre-school staff often push children to challenge themselves more than parents, for example, we often have children come to us unable to put on shoes and coats and use the toilet unaided. Within a week or two, we've got them doing it all independently!...Show more

Marielle Hedeiros: Preschool is a good experience for children. They ! gain the skills they need to be successful in Kindergarten, and on occasion, some learning problems are found and can be addressed before the child starts school. Besides the academic, (and more importantly) children have opportunities to learn to share, take turns, and learn to get along with each other.

Rheba Cockman: I never went to preschool but my three brothers did and it turns out that I didn't develop any skills until I hit grade 3.

Lilli Kochel: Preschool really helps the child develop in a lot of ways that they would not get to at home. In Preschool they are able to socialize with other kids in the same age group ( not just go to the park and see random kids ) learn well know ways to build small and large motor skills, learn listening skills, build on there hand to eye coordination, help get use to listening to directions they are going to need to understand to move on, learn and get a head start on what they will be doing in kindergarten so that they! are already successful. and overall to make the transition re! ally smooth for when they move on to kindergarten. This is also a great time while they are in school for the parent(s) to return to work and make some extra money....Show more

Hal Rouse: preschool helps them learn, experience new things and is a great way for kids to gain useful social skills. and they LOVE it!
