Mario Stricklan: There are really 2 ways to go about this as a new collage student the first would be to get a degree in History or Political Science and then do a post-bac or alternative certification. The second is to get a degree in secondary education social studies, or something similar depending on your school. Personally I favor the the first over the second but I'm a little biased if you do the first often you will be able to utilize some of the credits toward a graduate degree as apposed to taking a bunch of undergrad ed courses toward a BA. You will also have a broader kn! owledge of the subject your teaching because of the additional subject area courses you took to get your BA compared to an Education BA. Take it for what it's worth the second will get you your certificate about a year sooner but with the first you will be 1/3 to 1/2 way to getting a masters when you get your certificate assuming you take grad level education courses when you can....Show more
