what is conservation of change?

Queenie Ruthers: The conservation of change is an idea related to sustainability: it says that change must always happen somewhere in an ecological system. If you want to hold some aspect of an ecosystem stable (like a fishery), you have to manage change elsewhere, otherwise the system will be vulnerable to collapse.
