Rod Laver Arena is the 3rd highest grossing venue in the world behind London’s O2 Arena and New York's Madison Square Garden. Melbourne is also the sports capital of the world, so there are many national and international sporting events which take place. Carli Watterson: Sydney or Melbourne. Most things that happen in Sydney go to Melbourne and vice versa. Sydney has some events that Melbourne doesn't get and Melbourne has events that Sydney doesn't get but either city will keep you entertained. Both have ex! cellent venues, theatres, concert halls etc.

Olin Hallin: Melbourne's venues are more accessible than Sydney, apart from that they are much the same. Sydney has some major cultural events that are not in Melbourne, but Melbourne has more sport focused events.
